The Campus Futures Day was successfully held on 6 February 2026, brought together over 1,700 participants, including students and teachers from primary schools, school leaders, foundation representatives, community partners, and CUHK academics across faculties, to explore how social innovation can shape the future of education.

As the finale of the Campus Futures: Co-creating with Social Innovation initiative, the event marked the culmination of months of engagement, including school visits and principal sharing sessions. These exchanges enabled CUHK teams to gain first-hand insights into real school needs before developing practical, evidence-based and school-ready solutions.

Organised under the Social Enterprise Summit 2025 – SE Lab @ North District, supported by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, and co-organised with Fullness Social Enterprises Society – Social Entrepreneurship School Education (SEnSE), the event served as a platform to reimagine what a “future school” could mean. Moving beyond a narrow focus on technological advancement, participants were encouraged to adopt a human-centred lens — shifting from the concept of a “Future Campus” to the more dynamic and evolving notion of “Campus Future,” which emphasises continuous growth, student well-being, and community care.

A total of 13 CUHK academic-led project teams showcased their solutions through exhibitions and pitching sessions. The projects were aligned with four core themes: Well-being Campus, Technology for Good Campus, Green Campus, and Inclusive & Caring Campus. The solutions addressed a wide spectrum of priorities, from mental health and positive education to ethical and practical applications of technology, sustainability and environmental stewardship, as well as community co-creation to foster caring and equitable school cultures.

The morning pitching session focused on Inclusive & Caring and Well-being initiatives, while the afternoon highlighted Technology for Good and Green innovations. Throughout the day, educators, academics, and social innovators engaged in meaningful cross-sector dialogue, collectively exploring ideas that respond directly to the evolving challenges faced by schools in the 21st century.

Both the morning and afternoon pitching sessions featured a Q&A panel comprising experts from the CUHK Faculty of Education, foundations, education sector, and social innovation sector. These panel members provided valuable feedback, practical advice, and forward-looking insights to support the development of each team’s solution. We extend our sincere thanks to the panel members for their generous contributions and guidance, which enriched the collaborative spirit of the event.

More than a showcase of innovative prototypes, Campus Futures Day strengthened a growing network of collaborators committed to embedding social innovation into everyday school life. Rather than marking the end of a project, the event signalled the beginning of a sustained effort to cultivate a culture of co-creation within Hong Kong’s education ecosystem, nurturing campuses that are future-ready, caring, environmentally responsible, and empowered by technology.
