Event Highlight | CUHK wins 19 awards at the 12th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (30 May 2026)

The award ceremony for 12th Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 30 May 2026. This year, a record number of 753 projects from 30 tertiary institutions participated in the competition.

Students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) achieved remarkable success at the competition, securing a total of 19 awards across both innovation and entrepreneurship categories. The awards include: one first prize, four second prizes, four third prizes and five merits in the innovation category, and two second prizes, two third prizes and one merit in the entrepreneurship category. Notably, CUHK emerged as one of the top two universities securing the highest number of awards in this competition.

The Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is organised annually by the Hong Kong New Generation Cultural Association. Winning projects will represent Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in national competitions, including the “Challenge Cup” National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest, the “Challenge Cup” China College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition and the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition. This year, the winning projects will also have the opportunity to represent Hong Kong and their respective institutions at international competitions and exhibitions.
