(Photo: GIES)The 9th Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2025 was successfully held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 20-23 November 2025. GIES is the largest gerontechnology public education event in Hong Kong, which is jointly hosted by the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, and co-organised with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. This event provided a platform drawing together stakeholders to engage in dialogue and collaboration for border adoption of gerontech.
This year, GIES featured three themed pavilions focusing on “AI Driving Smart Ageing Futures”, “Poo Poo X Gut Health”, and “Care Food Wonderland”, as well as showcased over 1000 products and solutions from 270 local and overseas exhibitors. The expo attracted over 37,000 visitors over four days.
Our CUHK booths showcased four projects which covered various aspects including health monitoring and maintenance device and system, fall protection device, and rehabilitation equipment, to facilitate innovative improvements and address the challenges of population ageing in Hong Kong and beyond.
