Overview:
The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (IEIG) is recognized as one of the top three events held in Geneva, Switzerland annually and it is exclusively devoted to inventions and innovations. Under the patronage of the Swiss Federal Government, the State, the City of Geneva and of the World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO, this event showcases and highlights innovations and inventions from over 35 countries. This year, IEIG will take place in Geneva, Switzerland from March 11 to 15, 2026. In the previous year, CUHK garnered 34 awards, which included one special grand prize, seven Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury, eight Gold Medals, eleven Silver Medals and seven Bronze Medals.
Eligibility:
- The technology/invention must be developed by CUHK with active patent applications1 or granted patents
- The invention has not been showcased in the IEIG before
- Project team may have any mix of the following CUHK members:
- Professors
- Research staff
- Postgraduates
- Graduates
- Undergraduates

Assessment Criteria:
- Innovation and technology content
- Applications/potential applications of the invention
- Readiness for commercialization
- Benefits brought to the public or specific community group(s)
Privileges to apply through KTO:
- Secure a place through KTO, CUHK1
- All applications through KTO would be considered CUHK teams and consented to be used on University’s promotions in 2026/20272,3
- Use of backdrop design: to ensure consistency on CUHK promotional appearance

Important notes:
- NO FINANCIAL SUPPORT will be provided. Research teams are encouraged to participate at their own expense
- Flight tickets and hotel accommodation for the exhibition will not be provided
- Project teams shall participate in the entire event physically
- Additional works on poster development and event preparation will be needed prior to physical presentation in Geneva in March 2026
- Final selection of inventions will be subjected to internal review by KTO (i.e. active CUHK patent and CUHK members) and acceptance by the IEIG organizer
- All applications should be submitted to Knowledge Transfer Events Management Team, Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO). If no record of information submission is received, KTO reserves the right to exclude the project from the CUHK pavilion and promotional activities

Designed for individual exhibitors and small entities showcasing only 1 invention, these new booth packages will simplify the exhibitor setup. Availability is limited. - Young Talent Area
A dedicated space for young inventors from 5 to 18 years old, promoting creativity from an early age. Special medals and diplomas will be awarded. Registration must be done through a school. Limited spots available for the premiere edition.
